Johnny Boyle: A Drummer’s Life

Johnny has had a career in music that spans over 35 years. In that time, he has been a member of The Frames, Picturehouse, Lir, Marianne Faithfull’s band, Pugwash, The Duckworth Lewis Method, A House, John Murry’s band, Andrew Strong’s band and The Fat Lady Sings.

He has also performed and recorded with artists such as Paul Brady, Elton John, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, Celtic Woman, John Paris, John Murry, Andy White, Billy Corgan, Bill Frisell, Dave Gregory and Andy Partridge from XTC, Jason Falkner(Beck, Air, St. Vincent, Jellyfish), Westlife, Sophie Ellis Bextor, The Classic Beatles, Springbreak, Atomic Kitten, Westlife, Michael Penn, Nelson Bragg(Brian Wilson) and Will Oldham.

Johnny has toured the world extensively opening for artists such as Bob Dylan, Meatloaf, The Corrs, Marillion, Fish, Alice Cooper and most recently played The Frames 32nd anniversary show in 2022 at the Royal Hospital, Kilmainham to an audience of 20,000 people.
